A comparison chart of length to weight ratio will only be heresay, so length should be the criteria on it's own in that instance. To give merit points per fish , then per cm is entirely up to you as the organiser, but as 'Roo' says,
2x 60cm fish with an extra 10 points per fish beats that of an individual 120cm barra caught on the lake. Whatever system you choose, you need to stick hard to it, so everyone knows, and so everyone can target the rules if they have a need to win. I'd personally believe that a 120cm on fly in Monduran deserves more credit than two 60 cm fish. But rules are rules.
Enjoy your group trip, have fun and enjoy the atmosphere of that particular lake. 100-130 cm fish on fly are strong possibilities in May. Last May was a cracker for giant Monduran Fish. A few on this site scored monsters!! "Tight Lines"

if i remeber right you got a few fish at the sweetwater meet and greet johhny and i got my pb at the time of 117 which we film so may can be a great month if the effort is put in that is for sure

For fly fishing, I'd suggest leaving the 10 point per fish out of it. 2 x 50cm fish = 120 points, 1 x metre fish = 110 points. If there are prizes at stake the savvy will go target lots of little fish for the bonus points and the guys who gets a metrey on fly will win nothing. JMHO

Try this page at NT fisheries mate, it is an approximation chart for length to weight for barra.

    hope that helps.

Re: Help with Barra weigh-in please

Thanks everyone for their responses, some great info. Meeting is on Monday night, the decision will be made and stuck to hard and fast. We must remember here that this trip for us is not all about winning, although points are allocated for end of season freshwater champion status (plastic trophy) it's all about the social aspect and safety of all and to enjoy a passion that many of us share. Like I said early in the thread, this is some of us's first time barra fishing so less than one week out from going, I no how I feel and that's excitment plus. Anyway thanks again, I'll post a report upon return. Thanks Kevin

Looking forward to the report Kevin. Make sure you post some pics to ease our own IBD itch. Fun and safety is what it's all about. You hit the nail on the noggin.

Cheers and best of luck to all of your club members
