    Daiwa Exceller 4-8lb

Hi all, been looking at the Daiwa Exceller 4-8lb Spin stick for Breaming. I'm currently using a 1-3kg LCS with a 2500 Exceller reel but I think it's time to get a better rod and was looking at the Exceller one for the price of $99.00. What do you think? Has anyone had any bad experiance with them? Or should I just get a Starlo Stix Pro

I would go with a penn pinpoint tournament around the same price much nicer rod or a phluger trion

Not sure about the Exceler rods, but I have my Excler 1500 reel matched to a 2-8lb Daiwa Procaster rod and it's an excellent combination for the money. (I paid $50 reel and $60 rod)

    Tom,
mate don't buy a rod if you don't like the feel of it just cause someone on here said they are good. For my money I think the diawa rod range is overpriced when you look at the product compared to others on the market. They look and feel cheap to me.
look at the rods available in your price range and size you want. have a look and a feel of the rods in the shop and ask if you can match the rods you like to the reel you will use on the combo and have a feel of it as an outfit any decent tackle shop should have no problems with you doin this don't de scared to ask em its your cash they want mate.

Trions are only IM6 blanks.... Bit much for what you get IMO.

Oh true Matt, I might just get the Starlo Stix Pro again haha. I love them and they've got a great feel to them.

I have just bought a gladiator 2kg snake skin sports great rod with eva grips titanium guides im8 blank and around a $150. I think they make a 4kg one which would be a good match for the exceler.

    cheers nick

Starlo pro would be my choice.. The one I picked up felt great.. I went back to buy it a few days later and it had sold (at sale price, before the sale was due to start).. Bought my proshooter instead.. Nowhere near as good, but I needed a rod and it was there.
