Sandcrabs at river mouth
I’ve finally got an opportunity to have a go at the sand crabs which seem to be laid on at the moment but the forecast is for strong winds.
I was thinking of giving the river mouth a go towards the compass adjustment buoy. Fisherman’s Island should reduce the effect of the winds a bit.
Does anyone know if the area has been crabbing any good or the boat passage.
Thanks
John

we fished the rock wall at the end of the port / mouth of river and caught three good size sandies on the rods so there was a few around. we were only 40 meters of the rock wall that faces mud island. and the three were of good size also. Cheers Andrew

Re: Sandcrabs at river mouth
Are you after muddies or sandies? Boat passage (water police side and ramp side) had predominatley undersized muddies last week, while the bay was producing some good sandies - we dropped just out of the channel from st helena (between the island and say boat passage ramp)... We were after muddies though - - and you dont have to go too far at all to get some big ones
