    Todays Townsville Fish

    Hey guys..

Hit a few of the normal spots around Maggie today with a couple of blokes from work. Started off casting for mullet, first cast one of the blokes made pulled up 15 odd nice mullet. Second a well and truley sized lizard (first I've had in T'ville) and a little Barra Rat.

Launched and headed to W. Point..... a couple of hits nothing staying on.
Moved over near white rock. There we are chewing the fat, one of the blokes starts looking around frantically... hit rod is gone, and who knows for how long ! (only one without rod in rod holder) then I spotted it bobbing around about 10 metres my side of the boat. someone tries to cast a lure over it and in the excitment ... birdsnest. Next second, rod starts motoring around the boat then... gone... under water at speed. 20 seconds later it bobs back up on the other side of the boat 10 metres away... eventually we pull anchor, grab the rod... low and behold a 63 cm schoolie still there and landed.

Only other kept fish was a monstor GT pulled in from the same spot... biggest I've ever had in my boat... actually I've ever seen caught.

Plenty of cod were released which kept what few quiet times there were.
Definately one of the most hilarious and sucessful fishes we've had around there.

    Cheers !

I always bag him out for fishing in NQ with a Jarvis Walker spinner..... I suppose if it was my gear the abu baitcasters wouldnt stay afloat for more than a second. So apparently an entirley plastic kit has its advantages... bouancy....
