Anyone go surf fishing at Moreton over Easter

The old man and I normally go surf fishing at Moreton once the weather cools down probably July, this year he is 79 so not too many of them left.

This year we've had an oil spill, a cyclone and a stink load of rain and big seas.

I'm concerned the pippies and worms will all be dead and the coffee rocks impassable just north of Camel rock which will probably result in hardly any fish.

Anyone go over at Easter or indeed recently and can advise on the beach life / fishing as well as whether you can get past the rocks at anything other than dead low tide.

    Appreciate any comments.

my dads been getting a few tailor here and there, a few bream showing up but no numbers yet, always a few dart but not thick yet either, worms are very hard to find and pippis non existant down the whole beach most of any fish are coming from the bottom end all the rocks around cammel rock are exposed big time even at low tide making it very difficult to get around, cape moreton isnt even worth the effort the smell is terrible i thought there would be some fish hanging around due to the millions of dead crabs, algae and such floating around i couldnt even raise a juvi bream hope it comes back by winter, still some sticky oil on the higher rocks dont touch it its very hard to get of, had to sneak past EPA to get to some of the better spots but it wasnt hard the security they hired was one guy asleep in his ute wasnt even worth the effort though all in all focus down the bottom end and hope for the best

Thanks Jack, I'm beginning to think Fraser might be the better option this year, pity though this will be 25 continuous years we have been doing this.

We have been going to Moreton for 12 years every August.

    Epa ,cost,green zones.

    This year will be Straddie.

My dictionary defines green as ‘unripe, immature, undeveloped'. Perfect description.

Most political parties are seen as interested in what the voters think, the Greens are seen as thinking the community should be interested in what they think.
