Hi Guys
I'm after any advise or any tips for fishing Maroochy River. I'm heading up for easter & have never fished there before. I will be land based using SP's to target bream or flathead or anything that will keep me entertained, so any tips on locations & SP types & colours would be a big help.
Cheers

figjam
I was up at Maroochy in early March. Got a few little flatties on Gulp's around the boat ramp on Bradman Avenue (opposite Maroochy Palms van park) and lots of little bream on bait from the same area.
The biggest bream I saw were when we were at Sunshine Plaza. There are heaps of them around the pylons there and good size too. I don't think you can fish there though.
Good Luck
Chris
Sorry - to be more specific 3" Gulp swimming mullet watermelon (green).
Here is the link to a thread I started along similar lines which might help.

on the north side of the river mouth there is a big deep section that hold some good bream and flatty's. if you fish the incoming and the top of the tide you should do ok might even find the odd school of tailor or trevs busting up so don't be afraid to try a smaller popper of hb minnow in a natural colour. plus the incoming should hopefyully push some cleaner water in to
No love its not new...i've had that reel for ages
matee
try flicking a few lures at the mouth around the sand bags near the caravan park and you should pick a few flatties up anything in the 3 - 5 inch range shall do
