    Brissie River bream 4/4/09

Took the 10 year old nephew for his 2nd trip in the boat for a fish in the river this afternoon. Didn't think we would have much chance of catching a bream or 2 but you can't catch them sitting on the couch. The water was a real chocolate colour from all of the runnoff.
2nd cast and the nephew is on. Why do they always wind the fish all the way to the rod tip, No matter how many times you say "stop winding". I still love the look on a kids face when they catch a fish. Reminds me of my son who is now 23. He still gets the same look on his face as he did when he was 5 and I enjoy it now as much as I did then.
We ended up landing 12 between us. 11 of them were between 27cm and 30cm.
The 12th one is worth a special mention. My previous pb was 37cm and this horse beat it by 3. New pb at 40cm and one very happy chappy.
We caught them all on R2S baby cranks and all were released to fight another day.

The old river 2 sea, Cracker fish dave . Hey mate ,called in to a tackle shop after them the other day as Garrett didn't have any of my favorite colour in stock. Bloke laughed when I asked for them. He said you use them. Kept trieing to show me Chubbies at $26 a lure. Congrats to you and young Liam. Well done mate

I hate having photos taken you should see some of my wedding - absolute shockers but I was smiling on the inside. He went 40 to the tip and only weighed 900grams. The photo doesn't show as side on but it wasn't the fattest bream I have ever caught.

Certainly one of the bigger breambos in the river, congrats on the new pb.

Out of curiosity what is you favorite colour? For a change I have spent a couple days this week chasing the little spike silvery fish on hb in the river and the r2s baby cranks in rainbow trout colour and baby bass colour have been the producers for me, even snagging a legal squire on the rainbow trout.

    Cheers Chris
