Converting a Transom ellecy to a bow mount

    All

I was looking at a cheap alternative for a bow mount leccy motor and considering the Watersnake 54lb transom mount as i've heard you can take the top bolt out of the head and simply spin it around.

The reason being i didn't want the bulky bow mount up the front of my little 390 Hornet. There is already a plate welded into the rail...

    Yep you heard right Scott.

I had a stern mount, i just undone the top undone the control box then took the bolt out and turned it 180deg.

Bobs your uncle you have a cheap bow mount.

i had to go a proper bow mount as the stern mount wouldn't go in the water deep enough on my 4.6 dory. It would cavitate in reverse.

Might go and purchase and fit today, doesn't look like a good day for fishing

    Thanks for your help

Thanks blokes. Just turned my new leccy round 180. They don't want you to do it too often by the placement of the bolt and nut. Need to get somebody with teeny weeny hands. The Minn Kota is an external nut/bolt and only takes 2 minutes. Had to replace my mates MK nut & bolt with a stainless one as they had rusted.

I did it with my minn kota a few years back, it is a quick easy job, but i found the prop was cavitating a lot, so i bought a longer shaft, this was ok for a while but i ended up getting a riptide 55 lb foot control with auto pilot, money well spent.
