Hi, We were down there 2 weeks ago and stayed at the north star c/park, there were heaps of big bream under the bridge but only hooked the throwbacks, we were mosly using mullet and worms and we fed heaps of em !

not sure about the crabs, didn't take the boat out there cause you'll need a 4x4 at the ramp, so we towed the boat to tweed, and tryed but no luck for us, I also tried the beach with a metal slug..... nothing, but I know there out there !!

but thats just me, you'll do better I'm sure, good luck

I used to crab and fish there quite a lot. I think it was called cudgen creek in my time before the developers killed it!!.

Recently I have used livies under the bridge to keep the pickers away as you said. I would use little potties and silver thingys (can't remember their name). The small ones like an easy feed so soft bait for the biggies are out. Good sport on light line though.

    I haven't used plastics.

Good luck and let me know how you go. I would be interested.

Dragman, went alright down at Hastings. we got a few flatty and my brother got one over 40cm. Got 1 crab but unfortunately just under size and suspected too much fresh in creek any how. But over all it was a awsome holiday.
All caught on pumpkin seed Gulps.
