My 5 yr old girls 1 st flatty
Hi all,
We were at the Tweed river and the wife and I were setting up 2 crab pots so I gave my lil girl her weapon being a 3 ft Ugly stick with a pen power spin 2000 reel, put an anchovie on it and threw it out near the bank,
within a couple of minutes she calls out and says ,
" Dada ! it's lumping ?! . . . . do I roll it up ? " she kept the pressure on the whole time and fought it to the end pulling it into the boat by herself,
measured 36 cm, one proud dada
Awesome... well done ,she looks pretty happy as well..

That is priceless...make sure you archive that shot to embarrass her on her 21st b'day. I bet you had a bigger smile than she did. It sure put a smile on my face. Thats what fishing is all about!!

A definite keeper mate. Oh the fish looks alright too. Congratulations to her. Brings back fond memories of my daughter's first fish caught land based because I didn't own a boat back then.

I had a similar experience last week with my 3yr old and a bass......you dont think it will be a big thing until it happens......your soooooo proud!!!!! good on ya mate and well done to you girl!!! she looks stoked in the pic!!!

ha thats what its all about!! Nice one! I take my boys and they loose interst in 10 mins if nothings biting.....then they just whinge Dad dad dad dad dad dad.... Hopefully they soon get the bug! When my son caught his first jew we pulled it out and i congratulated him with excitment and he said " can i go play my sony now dad"
I know how you feel about the 1st fish mate. My youngest bloke was 3 when he caught his, a 38" ting, he still mentions it when we go fishing, he is now 33. They just NEVER forget the pride and thrill of it.
