Re: sunshine coast
We tend to get something decent in the Mooloola each time we fish, though usually only or two worth noting. Forget the Maroochy IMO... Not sure of elsewhere.
Honestly the best fishing short of heading out to the reef on the Sunshine coast exists at the Bli Bli Barra park

Re: sunshine coast
I havn't caught anything decent around cotten tree for years and years. Actually, my last decent fish from the mouth of the Maroochy was a 75cm flathead back in 2004.

northern end of the pumicestone passage can produce your bread and butter species. depends what you're chasing.

Re: sunshine coast
The fish and chip shop down across from maroochy river cruises is quite good. They give you a whole shedload of chips for next to nix too.
Plenty of soldier crabs around.. perhaps I'll test your theory and get back to you.

You are probably better off going in at Donnybrook and fishing the lower part of the passage.

Re: sunshine coast
I have been getting some nice Jews( 80 - 90cm) and a few Bream just out from the mouth of Bells, I have found live bait is the best, also got a few nice Jacks same spot.....just before first light in the morning on either high or low tide.
