    Hi Wazza,

Webby has an article in this month's (April's) issue of Bush n Beach on exactly that subject. Highly recommended.

My experience is limited, but try lightly weight or unweight baits over on the top of coral outcrops near the top of the tide. I have had luck off Ormiston, north of Hilliards creek entrance.

    Cheers

    Dave

When I had a boat, I used to do okay around the front of Wellington Point, from Huybers(spelling) Light down to the front of Ormiston as Outsider1 mentioned. Good luck mate. There are patches of reef running right along there.

I've usually caught them in the shallows off Wellington point. Head out the leads and turn left towards Green. I've always found the sweetlip in the much shalower water out there 1-3 metres more than on the deeper drop off. Summer is definitely the go for them too. Can be elusive though. One morning we caught about 30 good size ones (didn't keep them all) and in the end were sick of catching them. Went out the next weekend and got nothing.
