I've caught them in the noosa river before. Just an option if you want 'em fresh.
Hey guys, just wondering of a spot around Brisbane which has a spot full of Pike as I need em' for a trip up to Noosa next week. I know that Shornecliffe has a healthy population but probably be able to get there before Noosa,
Cheers Tom

Tom, from a land based point of view, I've usually had luck from the jetty at Bongaree(Bribie), or closer to home, you could try along the wall Wynnum Creek, mouth of Aquatic paradise(around light), Wellington Point jetty. Basically, you want some where with small bait fish hanging around, as this is what the pike will be eating.
Try a bait jig, or very small strips of squid on a small hook, with little or no lead. Or flick a little 2" prong or a little hardbody around. I know you have both of these.
Yeah thanks guys, I'll try one of those spots Lizard.
Cheers Tom
Yeah Tom,
I was gonna mention the Wello Jetty - go get 'em china

Manly Jetty around the lights holds a few. At Noosa I could always grab a few near the fisheries jetty at Munna Point. Go float one of them off the end of the National Park and hang on

As horse said,
I used to get them off the rocks at the fishery patrol jetty at munna point. Some days they will bite on anything small but other days they were picky.
When they are fussy, use a small home made ''fly'' use a long shank mustard hook with small pieces of yellow and black wool. I used to use a 2 cm bit of yellow wool with a small 3cm piece of black fur from my oldies Border Collie. This method works a treat.
They are a great Spangled Emperor and Jew bait when floated out in the wash of Fairy Pools. Also a top Flathead bait in the Frying Pan when you can get them around the 10/15cm mark.
Nick
Cheers guys, Rhys I'll blood the Senator soon mate . Also Nick, when fishing Fairy Pools which spot do you fish there? Also is it dangerous?
Tom
Depending on the weather it can be a tad hairy. I find that if you walk down the first track you will see a good ledge that you can fish from. Pillies are an awsome bait here but tend to get smashed by bream , little trevors and happy moments before the bigger fish can get to them.
This is where using Pike, fresh squid or Salted pillies is better. We have caught some ok sized Spangleds here (2-3kgs) and even had reports of Snapper around the same size.
It hold some monster fish most times of the years and depending on the day you can hook up to nice sized Long Tails and Cobia.
Good luck mate and let us know how you go.
Nick
Thanks Nick, if I try the rocks I'll let you know how I go. Is there anywhere else in Noosa where I could spin up some Macks or Tailor?
Cheers Tom
Hells Gates, boiling pot, sunshine, middle groyne etc, etc.................do a search.
You can spin up Tailor through out the entire area but the 2 most consistent areas I have found is at lion rock and the southern side of hells gates.
you can also get some from the fish coop i think
