I'm towing my tinny over to Karumba in the easter school holidays,we'll be staying at the point. Can anyone give me some tips for fishing and crabbing this area.We stopped there last year but didn't have the boat with us.
I cannot help personally although i think synful has just come back from a trip with a tinny, still waiting for a report on his trip. Also I think he got some good info here on the region a few weeks ago.

Got back from Karumba yesterday after 3 days of fishing, caught over 50 barra in the three days.. My advise is the tides are perfect for barra over easter so just slow troll the outside corners of the river, you see all the boats.. Barra ranged from 50cm - 94cm our best, but lost some big big fish.. Saw 1 metery landed..
Really any lure with a 5m bib worked well, your trolling in 15-20ft of water at very slow speed so the 5m ones will get you in the zone.. If your just hitting the bottom every now and then its perfect, just take the motor out of gear if your going too quick and work that rod..
Good luck...
If you call into the Karumba Lodge Pub......ask for Chef Pete.....he should be able to put you onto some locals who can give you the low down on whats happening.....also cooks a great feed........(hes a mate of mine)....tell him I sent ya.
