    Land based rock bar action

With the recent spate of shithouse weather I have been hitting a local creek with soft plastics.

The fishing is nice and consistant with the most common catch being small Jacks around the 30-40 cms mark and Barra around the 40-60cms mark.

I have lost a few nice fish here over the last few month including what would of been my fisrt meter plus Barra. I guess those are the breaks when fishing without a landing net by yourself. I also lost what I assume was a good Threadie by using a shitty snap lock. I will never use these pricks again

Anyway, enough rambling and a few pics. For future reference the pink singlet , white arm and sapphire ring is my missus not me

In 4 trips we have had about 10 jack , landed four barra (also lost 4), a nice flathead, a solo fingermark and a few trevs under the 500gram mark(real monsters)

Anyway, although nothing massive apart from one barra, it is easier then launching the boat by my self and gives a good fix until the weather improves.

Some pics of a few of the fish , one of the rock bar and one of a sea eagle giving an osprey a hard time.

    Cheers,

    Nick

Geez, that spot looks like part of the Hull River. Good job mate.

I live near Cairns so I guess it's semi tropical! Thanks for the replys guys. I have forgotton how much fun you can have on light gear in estuaries. The spot runs off the Russell river so ffejsmada is close as it is very similar to the Hull river.
