Ahhhh Gladstone and the Central Queensland region......Check this out for weather. Nothing over 15 kn until next Wednesday at this stage. If this keeps up were in for a great trip.

Hmmmm. I think I'll take a big tube of white out and modify those signs to a more sensible name.

Agnes Water? How is the word "Agnes" to describe water? Now if it's Agnes Waters at least the implication is that the waters are named after some illustrious "Agnes" out there, dead or alive.

As in "Oh, that's a very Agnes looking area of water." See? It just doesn't fit.

So, my contention is that the area was named by an uneducated twit (probably a Queenslander) and that their intent was other than actually happened (this is a common occurrence when Queenslanders are involved) thus it should be called Agnes Waters. A truly pragmatic, very "South Australian" name.

Self Superiority shines again.

Maybe the second letter "s" in a roadsign is somehow more susceptible to fading due to Global Warming. I have read arguments that have followed that sort of logic!
