Can we please go back to the old one?

The Classifieds are Classifieds, not forums. If you have a question you can ask the seller via PM if they have comments turned off.

Most people have chosen to turn comments off as there was too much trouble with the old forum format from people posting crap on their for sale ad.

Kinda defeats the point in advertising though if nobody is bothered to look at it.

Gotta admit I don't bother browsing them any more, I have not been looking for anything specific either, still the option of an impulse buy or spreading by word of mouth is largely out the door...is too clunky and unfriendly to view.

Is it possible to view only those with comments viewable.

    cheers fnq

The stats show that the ads are getting more views than the old format.
As I said, it is a classifieds, not a forum like the rest of the site. Just like Trading Post, etc. A product is for sale and you can ask a question if you are interested in buying it.

    Re: Boats for Sale Section

    Steve,

I am always looking at classifieds and buying goods on a daily basis (includingh the Ausfish classifieds), and I agree, as a long time member I find the new section too hard to navigate, and rarely bother to try and look.

When I do look it always appears to be the same adds. I try to view by latest listings, but still find that nothing new turns up. The section time left on the right hand side doesn't appear to make any sense to me either.

I know we are stuck with it, but is there anyway we can make it a better system? It could be a very valuable asset to the site (like the old on was), and would be worthwhile spending some time on to make it work.

    Regards

    Darren
