Townsville 3 Day Charter Recommendations
Does anyone have any recommendations for a charter operator in Nth Qld? Only just moved here from Bris so not quite sure of the one's with good reps and the guys to stay away from.
Looking to do a 3 day trip later in the year....I am based in Townsville so preferably leave from here but not a must.
I have read some pretty poor reports of charters so want to make sure I don't do me dough on the bodgy brothers charters up here...
Cheers

Re: Townsville 3 Day Charter Recommendations
Depending on the time of year and who was in town, I don't think you could go past one of the marlin boats, even to bottom bounce. They are used to doing live-aboard charters for the Cairns season, have all the best sounders and GPS plotters and very often the shoals where the big reds and that hang out are on bait grounds known to the gamefishermen.
Local boats include Rod Mathison's Frank Woodnut built Seababy IV and Dave Pemberton drives the Brad Craft/Dick Ward built Kanahoee.
Come August and September you could throw into the mix the 47' Obrien Kekoa skippered by Luke Fallon and the 55' custom Reel Chase skippered by Townsville boy Jim Dalling.
Those names are working charter boats but I know there are other boats in survey up there like Manu Kai and Pirate or Pirate II.

Thanks for the input. Was thinking more along the lines of bottom bouncing but never been marlin fishing before so that could be an option.
