Cheaper at the large hardware store that starts with "B". About $7.00 for 25kgs.
Buy most of my Salt and Epsom Salts from Rochedale Produce, on the service road near Ikea. They will sell it to you buy the Kilo or 25kg bag.

I was initially going to respond with aquarium (marine aqauria) salt - but it is pretty expensive - actually Very expensive - about $100 bucks for 20kg.
I wonder if pool salt is just sea salt?
mmmm... Great idea for salting fish - but also potentially great idea to save me money - will have to look into it -
Thanks guys.
i use pool salt to salt my pilchards, bunnings is the cheapest.
Pool salt contains a sunscreen to retard the loss of chlorine in the pool. For a while I thought it was affecting the salting of my crab baits, so switched to butchers salt which most butchers are happy to sell. Quite cheap too. It made no difference though to the baits, I must just be a bugger of a crabber!

Have a look at http://cheethamsalt.com.au/
I think you will find that Salt is Salt "Sodium Chloride" (NaCl) just that it comes in different granule sizes for different applications. Dissolves faster or slower depending on the size.
Swimming pool salt is usually very fine so it dissolves fast.

Agree, pool salt is no more than salt NaCl in a different form.
Sunscreen for pools is sold as a separate product and they do not give it away!
Ok, maybe I've been mistaken on this. I was sure that I had read on one of the bags that the salt contains a sunscreen, but I'll check again next time I buy some. Interestingly, a friend brines his own meats ie: silverside, brisket - and doesn't use the pool salt he says because of the sunsreen added to the salt.
Perhaps we're both wrong.
