whitting of the banks of the Nerang

ive fished the Nerang alot for alot of good whitting, but im sick of towing my boat down there by myself its 22ft and a pain for such a drive, i was thinking of trying of the banks, i usually fish the council chambers you who fish there would know where but if i fish of the bank i can only access the park at the chambers and thats the deep side of the river, does anyone do bank fishing for them down there i usually get around 40 whitting out of the boat but would be happy with 15 to 20 just of the bank, where would be a good place to give it a shot? im not after secret spots just somewhere where im in with a good chance, might go down tuesday night so i can dig some mangrove blood worms in the morning if anyone wants to come for some company?

Have seen guys picking up the odd one from the park at Isle of Capri boat ramp, would still require wrigglers, bloodies or jelly prawns to be in the hunt.

yeah worms are no hassle i always get heaps up to my neck in mud hahaha maybe i just need a surf rod to cast to the other side, i thought about in the park down stream a bit, its deep water along the edge where the council is but when the river splits it goes back to 6-7ft does anyone fish here with a boat, also do you recon you would get Jack's around here, thanks

J ack, I have got jacks on the corner to the right of your circled area, bream down towards the bundall bridge end. There is a good park with a beach at Regatta parade down river towards tss school, it goes ok for whiting if you have the gun bait( there is a fair bit of area to work with sea grass beds and a sand bank which comes out on low tides.

i know how important that gun bait is hahaha yeah i guess ill have to try spots to find one that holds a few concentrated whitting like the chambers, i wouldnt mind trying that spot i sudgested and throwing out a livie aswell, i just need someone to come sit down with me, ill dig the bait if anyone wants to come hahaha tell you the truth i dont mind catching the old mangrove worms even though its hard on the back
