    electric motor not working

    Hi all,

Tried to use the electric motor this morning but could'nt get it to go.

It's a 54lb bow mount jarvis walker water snake with foot control. The motor connects to the battery via an anderson plug and normally when i connect the two the motor makes a click sound. This is not happening at the moment.

There is power coming out of the battery connection because it shows voltage when plugged into the charger.

Any ideas on what could be the problem.

    Thanks

    Hows it going mate
It would be worth getting a test light and running from the battery up through the plug and up to the unit this will show you if you have broken wiring a dodgy anderson plug or a faulty motor

once you have gone through the fault finding you will know where the problem lies

    hope this helps

I've struck problems before with anderson connectors. It could be a corrosion build up on the connector terminals which can be fixed usually by replugging in and out a few times. The contacts wipe themselves clean as they rub over one another. Also, a battery may read charged under no load but still not be charged. You need to see what happens to the battery voltage when the motor is connected. If 12 volts are still present (use a test light and use brightness of lamp as a guide to state of charge), check if there is still plenty of brightness on the motor side of the two pins of the anderson connector.
