    Angry Help With 40hp Yamaha

    Went out fishing on sunday with kids and came home to flush out motor and it doesnt turn over its electric start it worked a treat all day untill we got home.The power trim still works fine which makes me think its not the battery any ideas would be good thanks matt.
    its a 2005 model.

    Check the safety-clip is in properly.

    I had something similar in reverse, the PTT was very very intermittant. Turned out that a nut on a an electrical terminal had vibrated slightly loose. Could be a similar thing here. Also check your battery terminals, if they are not tightened right up you can loose the ability to turn the starter.

    Sounds like the neutral start switch is not activating, make sure the engine is in neutral.

    failing that, check battery voltage, start solenoid and ignition switch in control box and the actual starter motor

    thanks fellas tried pushing in and out of gear a few times and it seems all good starts no probs.I have always had a pull start tiller steer so im sure there are a few things to get used to.I am taking the 8 year old and the 3 year old twins out tommorow to have a try for a sandie and a bream again thanks for your advise guys matt
