Hummingbird 917CX DF Combo unit

Hey all,

I'm in the market for a new sounder/GPS combo as my last unit is buggered (corroded pins). I've been looking around and the Hummingbirds seem to be the pick of the bunch, with the 917CX DF Combo being my preference. Now, has anyone got this particular unit and what do you think of it? Best price I can find for one is $1749, does anyone know where I can find at a better price?

I bought mine from Barra Jacks in Rockhampton for $1700 in october last year mate and it's an awesome bit of gear

Yeah mate I was in Barra Jacks the other day speakin to pilly, and the unit was sellin for around $2000 + $360 for the card. Bit steep I thought, then saw online somewhere sellin for $1750......still lookin!

When the dollar was good was looking at getting one from oversea's but then it went dusted so got this one here when i sold the car

i have the gold card as well came with my humminbird unit i made a backup copy of the card but havent put it on another sd card yet.i;ll try that later and will see if it reeds if so i'll copy one for u if u like?

Yeah mate let me know if it works does the gold card come with the current green zones etc?

Well, I just purchased the unit........$1700 + free postage now I just need the navionics gold card and I'm set, where's the best place for those?

BCF Rockhampton try them last time i looked they were pretty good........... Mine was a deal so i got it cheap

I just got a Navionics Gold Card from Bruce at Barra Jacks Tackleworld in Rockhampton for $340.00 and he also cut me a deal on a new Humminbird 798 for $2270.00 instead of $2499.00 quoted by BCF Rocky....BCF not negotiable.
