Another vote here for the Penn big game surf in 10' spin. Also comes in 11' in both OH and spin, great rods for the money. I use mine with a Emblem Pro, going to Quobba in May, so that should give a good test on some spanish macks. Casts 65-85gm raiders a mile.
    Mo stocks them.
I think they are now sold as Rovex rods in other shops.

Are the Penn rods graphite? Is their much else that is similar to the Emblem Pro? How much was the Zenaq Pete? I'm thinking twice as much as the EP?
"holy sh!t, did you see that?"

    Hi Damo,
The penn rod is a carbon composite. As to options like an Emblem Pro they are nearly nonexistant other than going custom made or possibly an Tiralejo 9' which might be a tad to light. I have an 11' Tiralejo and it would cast 80g but not as well as 60g. Do a search on some of the Jap and US rods. In the US look at Lamiglas and St Croix and ask Pete on the Jap options. Zenaq price : very fn dear.
