    Green Zone patrols...

The new green zones came into play yesterday in Moreton Bay.

I couldn't get out for a fish but I was wondering if anyone had any comments on the patrolling (or lack thereof) of the zones on their first day?

Who was out there? (EPA, DPI, Police......?)
    Did anyone get a warning/caution/fine?
How did they treat those without a GPS?

Any feed back would be interesting....

I thought the current government decided to not politically prosecute on the zones until after the outcome of the election...could be wrong.

If so enjoy the unexpected personal freedom while you can until it is again ripped away.

    cheers fnq

There was someone at teh scarbourough ramp on Saturday. I didn't get to talk to him but he was handing out info and showing people info on the new zoning map on the sign. Looked like he had a queensland transport shirt on, but I couldn't confirm this.

I would hardly expect them to be on their toes or in their bright shiny non-existant boats.....EPA haven't even got their brand spanking new building at Manly finished yet.
As yet to see anywhere that confirms that the zones will be 'policed' by anybody other thasn EPA

    From the Brisbane Times
"Ms Bligh said the government would be ramping up enforcement of Moreton Bay by employing eight extra EPA officers, and buying two new boats and three new jet skis. The education campaign will include signage around green zone areas and boating ramps."

i was speaking to marine parks on the 27th feb over at moreton as they where putting up signs, i was told that they cant afford new vessels at this time, they wont be enploying anyone due to the economic crunch and they wont have any blokes on the water on a sunday due to not being able to pay them extra for sunday, i know this bloke well so wont mention his name though thats what ive been told by a marine parks officer, i also saw that Cole Limpis fellow out there jumping on turtles again personly i think he's a w@#$%r and he was speeding through the green zones, personally no investigation went into this proposal and is a joke, because marine parks dont even no how they will inforce it, i know a few officers that dont even like the plan, oh yeah and that new building at manly i know how much it cost to make trust me if i told you i think people would scream, they have a bloody 3 story building with a balcony to seat 100 what are they planny to do with that joint
