The carp in the feeder streams of the upper Macquarie systems are taking advantage of seasonal conditions and are full of a second lot of roe. I,m doing the best I can, but would appreciate some help in knocking the mudsuckers!!
I second that motion. Very nice work BB, getting rid of a few of these introduced nuisances. Unfortunately the Maquarie is a bit far from Brisbane, or I'd be there.
I Would be happy to tag along on a carp busting mission in SE QLD if anyone out there has a good spot for them.
Lizard Man, what annoys me is the so called "friends" of our native fish that whinge about the pest species, but never help the problem. If they put away the lures occasionally and targetted the pests they may have a right to whinge. Especially in the smaller streams, you can make a differance. Not enough cod and yella fishos are contributing. If your not part of the solution, your part of the problem,
BB, excuse my ignorence, Im not sure where the Macquarrie system is, deep south Im guessing?
Do you see trout there, and are they treated as vermin imports as well?
I classify the upper Macquarie as anywhere upstream of Burrendong Dam near Wellington(near Dubbo). This includes Bathurst, Mudgee, Orange, Sofala, etc. Rivers such as the Turon, Bell, and Cudgegong. These crap were caught in a feeder stream to the Cudgegong which joins the Macquarie proper at Burrendong. This is pretty much central NSW,
