    Post Trolling??help?

    Hey guys, I just got myself a boat rod from BCF. Its has a 20lb low stretch line. I am planning on lure trolling in Moreton bay fo a bit of a change.

    I have been fishing ever since i was a kid and i have always loved it but i have just recently bought a boat and since then i am getting into it more and more everyday and now want to try new things.

    so my question is to everyone here is what are recommended line setups? i mean i need to know everything like what Leaders(if i should use one), what length of a leader if i am using one and size of leader, do i use and wire trace? I really need to know everything as i am a complete noob to this sort of fishing.

    any help would be greatly appretiated.
    thanks

    Oh Boy Mike have you opened a can of worms. I can't help you, I couldn't catch a cold while trolling it seems, but lots of guys on here can and do. While you wait for them to turn up, prepare for these questions;

    - what is the boat/power?
    - what sort of fish do you want to catch?
    - where do you launch?
    - are you prepared to go offshore?

    also grab a book or two on the subject - Tackle Warehouse in Coorparoo are excellent, but BCF and others have some books too. The guys at Tackle Warehouse know their stuff, and are happy to chat about these things for hours.

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Re: Trolling??help?

    As per usual, the best advice is to join a fishing club. Go out with members from it in their boats for a bit and see what they do. Alternatively go out with a guide or fishing charter and see what they do and ask a million and one questions.
