PHP Warning: Use of undefined constant VBA_SCRIPT - assumed 'VBA_SCRIPT' (this will throw an Error in a future version of PHP) in ..../includes/functions_navigation.php(802) : eval()'d code on line 1 Wiring Tachometer to Tiller Steer Motor
Hi Parrot King, Yours should be fairly easy since it has the charging system for the starter, but depending on the type of taco it is , it could be different , on mine it had 3 wires, one for light in taco ? the others were 1 black and 1 red, black gets bolted to engine block and red to the positive side of the rectifier,
the rectifiers look a bit different on each engine but does the same thing, mine I tapped into the red to the bottom left of the square box (left side pos, right side neg).
then depending on how many cylinders it has you will need to adjust the "pole" setting, I have a 2 cyl, so my pole was set to an even number, when you start the motor it should sit close to 1100 - 1200 rpm in idle when on the muffs, in the water and in "F"gear it should be near 900 rpm, give it a small rev and the needle should jump quickly, if not just change the pole setting , let me know if I can help more, cheers
Each to their own because only the owner knows what suits them but here is one place it becomes almost mandatory to buy the manufactures loom, will give you a spot for remote key start/choke, tacho, trim tilt, t&t gauge if applicable and then (should have) all manor of extra power supplies for other stuff you may choose like temp and water pressure gauge etc.
IMO this loom is the only near mandatory manufacturer part needed for the conversion.
