jacks released into awoonga

mangrove jacks were released last friday. 27 in total, smallest fish just a little short of 4 kg and and the largest a little short of 8kg. all fish released were tagged. photo attached.

Are they released as breeding stock or are they ex breeding stock that have since been replaced?

they are ex brood stock from the hatchery, they are from closed cycle stock.. the fingerlings that have been released have been from wild stock.

gday mate, i used to work there years ago looking after them, are they the broodstock, and do you have more broodstock to breed more fingerlings for the dam? Imagine if you caught jack like you do barra there.
