Simon if you work futher up Rainbow, around a certain beacon and the area east of it towards straddy, you should be able to pick up some better quality spangles, and hopefuly a tuskie.
Pm me if you dont no the beacon im talking about

Well it's been a long time since chris and I have done a trip into the bay, mainly because of quite a few trips up the goat track to Monduran. With today being the last quarter of the moon and favourable tides, we decided to put in a trip over to Myora, seeing as it will be one of our last opportunities to fish there before it becomes a Watermelon Zone in a few days.
Met Chris at work and headed off to Cleveland and had fantastic conditions for the trip over, smooth water and no wind. Arrived just before 6:30am and the fish were on the chew, it's just a pity they were all undersize though, first 4 casts of the gulp all produced a fish, 3 squire (15-30cms), and my first spangle, all on the trusty Nuke Chook jerkshad.
Chris also picked up a few undersize squire, a handful of small Maori cod, and a couple of small gold-spot cod too. After the spangled emporer, I got a couple of small Maori cod, a grassy sweetlip, and a couple more small squire. This brought us up to low tide, and with it a bit of a breeze coming up from Dunwich, which made it hard to fish once the tide started to run in against it.
So we made a move, further up the Rainbow, where I managed a legal gold-spot on a 7 inch blue pepper neon, and chris found a few more small Maori cod. It was still wind against tide here, then it started raining and the wind swung to the east/south-east. So we moved back to Myora for the last of the run in, and once it turned and began to run out, we both got a couple more Maori cod and a couple of squire each, and I also found another legal gold-spot but this went back just like the others.
So despite the less than pleasant conditions after the great start, it still managed to be a pretty good day. I picked up the grand slam, 5 species in one day, all on gulps.
Gulps used: 3 inch fry; 4 inch minnow, 5 & 7 inch jerkshad, all caught fish.
Weights used: 1/2oz; 3/4oz; 3/8oz TT & Nitro.

That beacon can produce some nice Cod as well. I have found Myora to fish better a good 200m further north. The structure is not as good but it gets less attention
