    monday trip to the pine!!

hey all went for a fish yesterday didnt get to the water till about 12pm. put the boat in an off i went to my bait spot i throw off the cast net an i had all the bait i needed so went to my spot an got the shark lines out an started the drift while flicking lures around trying to pick up a good bream to replace the average size mullet on the shark hook not along after the baits had been in the water the first rod went off hooked up to a dead wait got it in an it was a big old dirty pike eel with alittle bit of stuffing around i finally got it off the hook. a fair bit of time passed till i foul hooked a good size mullet on a lure so i rigged him up on the heavyer shark rod abit more flicking an i landed the lure right in a good snagged a nailed a cod that went 40cm but let him go. was getting the smaller mullet on the lighter rod played with an picked up an droped then eventualy taken off the hook this happened to about 10 baits didnt know what they were. i heard the rachet on a rod click about 5 times then nothing pulled it in an had the wire trace cut clean in half only to see a large shark break the surface about 2 mines later i would have put it at 2-2.5m could only see the dorsal an tail fin so that was about the estiment i would think. was running out of bait an was gonna call it quits when i saw on the sounder a nice hole with some good size rocks in the bottom of it had a few flicks there an onthe 3rd cast pulled a cod that went 44cm normaly i throw cod back as there isnt to many bigger fish in the pine but i thought id keep it for dinner.

i think its a matter of time befor 1 of those skiers gets grabbed buy a shark i saw 1 of them today fall off an was bobbing around splashing in the water for a good 5 mins befor his mates picked him this was about 20mins befor the big shark came though an once it happens every man an is dog will be heading to the pine to catch an kill these man eating sharks of the pine river which is the last thing i want to see happen.

    cheers

nice cod down the pine. we were fishing down the pine one day, it was a hot day, there was a boat down from us fishing and they decided to go for a swim, then a big bull sharked jumped out of the water, never seen a person get in a boat so quickly!

From what i've heard/read, the bullies seem to be pretty quiet when there is a lot of boat traffic and noise around. Seem to be more aggressive at night when it's nice and quiet. But you never know i guess lol
