    Re: Bay Monster!

Thanks for the responses and i'll try to answer all the questions!

The line used was 30 lb braid on a spinning reel ( not sure what type as it was johns rod) We were out chasing long tails and it was the heaviest outfit on the boat. Were were almost spooled several times even though we were backing back on it hard! A the time of hook-up we were expecting a good fight and were totally ready for it , the deck was cleared the boat was at the right angle (we thought )and i was on the throttles and we were still almost bricked , if we hadn't been ready for the beastie it would have done us on the beacon for sure!

As far as records go if we hadn't been using a stinger treble in the mackeral rig it would have broken the all tackle australian record by around 12kg but using the treble disallowed it

We kept the head and hope to mount the Jaws ( any advice welcome) For interest the head weighed almost 11kg( that was just the head Timiboy ) and i reckon i could get my head inside it's jaws!

    Ian

Ps Cuda Stink real Bad!!!!!!! An Foxy i'm not real keen on the Verminator title Kingtin can keep that one!
Alcohol doesn't agree with me, but i sure do enjoy the argument!!!

    Re: Bay Monster!

Now you know what the bay can yield, and way whats with the bay fishing bit, too rough outside, shame it wasnt the R t M ????, but i suppose you were a little out of bounds up around combi.
Nice cuda by the way, best i've seen from the bay.
Bit of mouth to mouth might have helped
People often mistake them for Spanish, this time of year, when you hear of reports of spanish swimming around their boat.
