    Rainbow Beach

    Greetings all

Suzi and I have never stayed at Rainbow Beach and neither have we fished there. Next weekend I was hoping to slip her away for a couple of days and maybe stay at the caravan park near the boat ramp in a little cabin. Has anyone stayed there before? Any feedback would be good.
Not knowing the area I don't expect to catch much, but if anyone's got a suggestion on where to get a muddie I'd be really grateful. We'll be taking Reel Nauti - 4.4mtr Jabiru.

    Thanks in advance.

Never stayed at that caravan park, but camped at inskip plenty of times. The van park looks nice, but make sure you pack some mozzie repellent and some coils. The sand flies get pretty savage at dusk and dawn.

As far as fishing goes, I really only ever chase whiting in pelican bay (the protected side of inskip point). Pump some yabbies on the flats at low tide and fish them on light gear on the incoming tide. When I was there at xmas the best fish seem to be up in the mangroves towards the top of the tide. It seems to be best when the tide is peaking just after dusk.

    Can't help with crabs, sorry.
