Question What's at the Pinnacles & Cathedrals

Did my first trips out and around North Stradie yesterday to the Pinnacles & Cathedrals with some GPS marks I found on another fishing site.
My question is simple, what should have I expected to see.
Water depth was 45 meters and it was as flat as a pancake . With names like that I would have expected to see some structure.

I share Bruce's frustrations. I have used generic marks for the Cathedrals, and spent plenty of time searching. Couldn't find a damn thing, apart from a little bump.

Nice of folks to put bogus marks up to lead us astray...

I figured as much with names like that they had to be incorrect, but these marks were up on a popular web page so I thought they would have had some creditability.
I understand fishermen not wanting to share marks, but why put up fictitious ones, that just pisses everyone off.
So if anyone wants to PM me some marks that would be appreciated

Nope thats not the one I was using. I will put it into my GPS tonight and see what the difference is. Can't remember the mark I was using of the top of my head, it might have been 27.34.700 153.35.748 but I will need to check.

These are the marks I have.

    27 29 640 153 36 220

    27 29 642 153 35 216

    27 29 560 153 36 210

To are called cathedrals 1 & 2 the other is, the pinnacles. I sounded around these marks for some time and nothing jumped up at me, if you grt my meaning. With names like that, as I said before I would have expected to see at least a meter or two lump. Maybe i have a crappy GPS ???

Re: What's at the Pinnacles & Cathedrals

Buy a chart and find the cathedrals and pinnacles on it. Using chart info set up your own marks and search in the area. I did this and found good ground out there. I too have used the marks of the net thinking they are not going to be a given hot spot but start marks but they are just too way out. The marks I have out there always fish well. It is a patch of reef that you can only really get to on a nicer day so I think it gets less attention.

we have fished the cathedrals for many years and have caught some top quality snaps and pearlies...

there is plenty of structure there, you just have to find it...

So is someone going to put us out of our missery and give us a hint as to the marks, if the ones on Ausfish are "so off"??? Please???

I have S27.31.750 E153.04.430 written down from a friend's journal..... Can anyone confirm this even for me?

    Kind regards,

    Brad.

    THanks Captain Seaweed..

I dont expect your secret spots mate - thats very altruistic and kind of you.. if you prefer to pvt thats ok too....

All I was asking (+/- Topicrows) for is someone lend a hand and let us know the general vacinity - if the other ones are "way off" - so we dont spend hours 2km from the mark wasting fuel, time and frustration.....

    Thanks heaps Captain seaweed
