    Cast net

Hi guys, just wondering what the best way to fix up a cast net is, the net is Mono. The net has around a 30 x 15cm hole in it some how ever since casting this weekend. I didn't snag it either. I was thinking of just using mono to patch it up but I would be losing width.

if you have an old ruined net cut a patch out of it and tie it over the hole, if you don't have a ruined cast net mate i got one here i can cut off a big enough bit for it and give it to you next time we fish.

if you ever get little holes just use very small zippy ties, works great & they dont get caught up.

    Rons got the trick.
I throw my net in some f**ked up places. I will take a photo tonite and post it up. Have had the same 12ft mono elcheapo for four years now and it works just fine. Cable ties have saved me a lot of money.
Easy to use - dodgy but effective.
Have torn the lead line off and had some massive holes in it.
Still catches heaps of bait and prawns.

Thanks Tinny, this hole is quite large though so I am guessing I won't be able to use cable ties will I?

The size of the hole dont matter.

I have about 2 packets of ties holding this net together.

Like i said its rough but it works.
