Rod & Reel combo help needed.
Need a bit of advice for a friend. He’s a keen fisherman but not that experienced. He wants to buy a rod and an eggbeater reel unit, to for use outside bottom bashing. A rod that can handle pearlies, snapper, the odd bigger fish and a bit of lead if the current is run. A reel that can hold around 300m of 50kg braid.
Budget $250 approx

tropicrows, 50kg braid??? are you sure you dont mean 50 lb braid??? how often is he going to use it??? i would think something like a penn spinfisher combo that are readily avail at most tackle shops including b-c-f and the likes, i think you would pick up a reasonable combo for that money but may not get the braid, the braid will prob cost around $90 for 300yards. have a look around as there are many options out there. cheers lethal
look for one of the shimano rods and reels, bait runner 4500 or 6500, with suitable rod. should do the trick... and in the budget.

Pfleuger have some good combo's, I have a Pflueger Contender 15-24kg with a Pflueger Contender reel with around 800m of 15kg platypus lo stretch mono.

Good pick up on the typo lethal, 50 lb braid.
A 560 or 760 Slammer combo should be about the money including braid. Tackle and Tinny is coming up - sure to be some bargains around

spheros 1400fa with a matching shimano rod would do the trick we use them down here on the big gummy sharks and big jews
