mate been up there a few times in the last month or so and its getting worse every time i go up. if they get a fair bit of rain between now and easter it will be pretty bad by then. ull be takin it pretty slow in a non 4x4 especialy with a boat on.

i dont think they will grade the road between now and then, they usualy only do it b4 big army exersizes and christmas holidays. after last years rain in feb it wasent regraded till august and it took them a fair while to do it. hope fully its not to bad at easter as ill be up there then aswell, luckily my boat is already up there

    Re: stanage bay road

As of the 9th Feb, 2009, the road is pretty good, we could do about 80 kph on many parts, 30 kph on other sections. No sweat in a 2wd towing a boat,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but anything could happen between now and easter with the summer rain season so I would be checking up on the situation within a week or so of your planned adventure. We encountered about 100 roos on dawn and none on return around midday.

    Re: stanage bay road

ramp is pretty good from half tide up, you cant use it a low tide as its turns to mud for a bout 20m and more on big outs. other then that it is pretty steep and generlay pretty protected from wind and tide.
