Hello Fellas,
I was hoping to go on a bit of a trek where we have to cross creeks along our travels. Anyone know of any areas where you can drive through creeks?
Thanks
Marty

Cape York. What area do you want to travel or do you just want to go play close by?
Brisbane area would be great, happy to travel 2-3 hrs.
Charlie Morelands camp ground near Kenilworth, in the Kenilworth state forrest. There is a track that leads from the camp ground and crosses little Yabba ck a few times. Most is about wheel deep but afew side tracks can take you deeper.
Just out of the township of Imbil on the right on the side of the road is what we call the Imbil car wash. 2-3 tracks cross in and out the creek in a small area but go round in circles, deepest is the top of the tyres.
Land Cruiser mountain park near Jimna has tracks with creek crossings mostly shallow.
Booloomba camp ground south of Kenilworth in the SF. You cross Booloomba ck 2-3 times on the way in and it's only 8-10in deep.
Cooloola way, a back road to Rainbow beach crosses the upper Noosa River Via bridge, but you can drive through the water next to it and it's about a foot deep.
Heading north on the Bruce Hyw, turn left at Roys road and there is a small creek to cross next to the Hyw about a foot deep.
Not much in the way of a challange but a few all the same. They all rise after heavy rain and I have crossed one after flash flooding in the Kenilworth forrest at 2 in the morning with the headlights going under water.
Best for a senic drive would be Charlie morelands, just take the right fork in the road as you pass through the camp grounds and the first crossing is about 500m from there follow the tracks around and beside the creek. The road that takes you to the camp gruonds is called Sunday Creek Road Just south of Kenilworth township.
I don't know what you call "good" but Condamine Gorge out of Boonah has something like 12 or 13 - after the rain the river should be up a bit to make it interesting
Ask lucky phil, he knows a thing or 2 about water crossings![]()
Catch the Barge from Hervey Bay to Moon Pt on Fraser then head north to Wathumba.
From mild to wild depending on what part of the tide you choose to set off up North.
like this?
time of day equals how deep it is, only drawback is it is salt water![]()
it is Station Creek down near Coffs harbour
it is the access to the best camping and fishing spot around![]()
Southern Yuraygir NP Pebbly Beach
Murph ssshhhhh![]()
I've given up on Minnie because it's too busy now. There aren't a lot of quiet places left.
One question though - are the guys in the 4runner part cat? Only reason I can think of for staying in that thing would be to keep my feet dry/ish.
haha yeah mate re the keep it quiet, its that expensive to camp there now very few of the locals go there any more, its cheaper to hire a house at Minnie than camp at Pebblyand its only 10km down the back yard
no idea of who the guys are in the 4runner???? but you are right haha
have heaps of drowned 4b pics in that creek
cheers Murf
Thanks everyone I will try SOME of these out!
I know this one but a little deep...
If you dont mind a bit of a drive but there are a few creek crossings @ Booloomba (check spelling) Creek just past Landsborough. It is also a great camping spot.
Take a drive down around Dayboro also after a good rain period which you guys have just had. I would always soak the patrol there after a beach session.
Have fun
Mark
Just east of camp site 7 on Flinders beach, N/Straddie
