    Mackay fishing

Hi all I am heading to Mackay for 3 weeks for work, staying at Blacks beach, is it worth taking a fishing rod if so, what type, and where to fish and what sort of fish can you get. Is it also worth going on a charter if so is there any good ones?

There are heaps of rocky headlands around Mackay. Mackeral and trout can be caught from the Harbour wall. Bread and butter species like big whiting, flatties even GT's are prevalent.

My advice, pack all of your rods. Its a very diverse area.

    Good luck

Exactly when are to coming to Mackay.

February is shaping up to be a very wet month. Will not be a lot of fishing going on.
