    claras rock

    how we going fellas?i was thinking of dropping the tub in tomorrow morning and maybe fish claras rock in the river,was just wondering what could i expect to catch?

    There is a good variety of fish to be caught, i used to fish there often. We caught squire, jew,bream,cod, moses perch, flathead, pike all on plastics. We also got our fish bitten in half on several occasions.

    No not sunken wall. If you come out the boat passage, after you pass all the tugs moored on the left there is a red beacon, the reef goes from that beacon most the way to shore and then up river and stops short of the Caltex wharf. The depth ranges from 8-10 feet down to 35-45 feet.

    marty+jojo is there any special spots or pointers your kenn to share?whats the best depth and time to fish mate?

    haven't fished it that much and had varying levels of success, but i think they tend to hang off a bit deeper as the tide is falling and push up back over onto the top more with the tide is rising, but not a bad spot always some action even if it is small, so if you don't get a bite fairly quickly move a bit deeper or shallower, and like you say if there is nothing going on there you can try the sunken wall or the poo shoot!! let us know how you go
