Honda tank fuel gauge
I have one of those Honda plastic 25litre fuel tanks with the fuel gauge fitted into the cap. You know the one - it is simply a plastic float on a length of steel that determines the level of fuel that shows on the cap's gauge.
Anyway, the problem is that the float fell off into the tank so my fuel gauge no longer works and I have a hunk of plastic floating around in the tank.
Does anyone have a simple suggestion of how I can retrieve the float without trying to empty the entire tank (which would be messy!)? I know its in there as I see if from time to time but I can't think of a way to snag it through the one small opening.....
Any help would be appreciated.
Please offer realistic solutions without being rude!
Thanks

Re: Honda tank fuel gauge
seeing as it is a "float" just take off the cap, tip the tank untill it is at the upper most and grab it with tongs or something, it is only 25 litres, just tip it into a 20 litre bucket or two, easy as pie really.
