How to rig for Dolphin Fish
Hi all,
I'm off to the FADs on Sunday to go for dolphin fish. Can anyone give me any tips on the best approach rig/lure/fishing method wise - my mate hasn't fished for them before either so if I can't get some help the blind will be leading the blind.
thanks

To be honest, I have no idea which ones we will be at.
To get them do you troll past or drift and cast lures or baits?

The easiest and simplest way, is a set of gangs and pillies or such.
Just idle in 15-20m from the buoy and cast either side, then a slow wind back in, often you'll see them down deep or not far below the surface if there around.
Some cubed pillies throw out will also help to bring them up.
We just use tss4 and the gangs straight onto the mono.
There will also be small kingies around.
Otherwise slow troll some lures in the blue pillie style.
Usually when you hook one, another one will follow it up, so cast behind the caught dollie and you could and may get another straight off.
