Thanks for coming along tom
Here's the pictures,
Hi all, just a report on todays fishing trip. Hit a local spot we a couple of mates to try and kill some Tilapia. As soon as I arrived they had 2 already and a nice 35cm mullet. Few casts and I am on to a nice mullet at 32cm's, faught really hard on 4lb gear (Shark bait). Then the Tili's start chewing. Altogether we landed 4 mullet, and around 60 Tilapia. Largest was 38cm. I also caught a 70-75cm Eel which faught reel hard on 4lb gear, took me around 3minutes to land
All Tilapia killed,
1 mullet killed for shark bait,
3 mullet released,
1 Eel released,
Pictures to be added tomorrow,
Thanks, Tom

do they realy fight harder than bream. i can wait till i get the chance to knock a few of them on the head. top work guys
figjam
Great, you've gotta have the photo of the rod clenched in your teeth!! Well done.
Thanks guys, heading back there soon. Give me a pm and we'll join you on weekends. As Snagking said they fight hard if they're in the mood, I had one take a few metres of line from my reel but size for size compared for bream no way. But if you get onto a mullet you'll know about it, they go extremely hard on our light gear.

From the photos it looks like the you guys had a ball. Looks like some harmless fun really..... especially if the tilapia are killed and disposed of correctly

All of them were killed, and thrown in the bin.

Great work lads, maybe you should share the location so others can rid a waterway of a pest
Well, we put up the location in freshwater chat, but i guess we forgot about this one.
Minnippi Parklands in carindale, also has bream, ( caught, but not fully identified) and BIG mullet, along with 60cm carp.
