I would set it at 6kg third line class and rod but you might push it to 8kg if you wanted to.... but I would not go past that
I know it's a dumb arse question haha but I'm curious as to the maximum drag pressure a TLD 25 can hold. If i'm running 40lb mono through a 15-24kg live fibre what pressure should i set the drag up for?
Cheers guys and gals

For pelagics I would set my strike drag at 25% (5kg) then you have a couple more kilos under your belt when you go to sunset.
A lot of guys fish harder but often you pull hooks etc.
Bottom bashing in rough country means I could go up to 7kg or even a touch more. Thats about all I can get out of mine

tighten it up - you'll still need your thumb to break the line when snagged. They have pretty average drag - esp when fully spooled.
Horse, so I'm guessing they would hold about 7kg of drag fully wound up?
Thanks for the replies guys
Cheers

TLD 20/25 should give at least 20lb while retaining freespool, with a full spool of line. Plenty for 40lb mono methinks. GBC raises a good point about drag pressure and the amount of line on the reel...fishing for sharks off the seisa jetty with a TLD, the line peels off pretty easy for the first 100m run...but when capacity is down it becomes a real struggle to hang on.

yeah if your anal about drag pressure as line is peeling off you technically should be easing the lever off to stick to your 30% rule
