Anyone know anything about Course Master Auto Pilots?? My mate just got a new Boat and the Auto Pilot just turns to full port lock whenever it is engaged, not too sure exactly where to start looking to do some simple first up trouble shooting, can't seem to find a local dealer either, so in a bit of a dilema, I guess it must be something to do with the 'flux gate" compass, I know how the whole thing works, but do not know how to go about some simple " non invasive" trouble shooting!
Never mucked around with one, so I am going to ask a stupid question, what happens after you let it do a full turn to port? Does it straighten up or continue to do circles? (is it trying to follow a set course?)
Just curious to see what happens..............?

nope, just stays hard over, and tries to go further, even read the instruction manual (now thats desperate huh!) that the previous owner had left with the Boat, all seems OK, as far as using the thing goes, by the way, the Boat was purchased knowing it was broken, the previous owner said it had been like it for a while and he never got it looked at (because he was selling I suppose), so who knows for sure if it has been fooled around with before?

I'm not sure where your based , but Trymax Marine should be able to help you out .
They are a Supplier of Coursemaster Autopilots ( + Heaps of other brands of Elec Equip ) .
They also do installs & have their own electronics repair section .
No I dont work for them , but they installed my TMQ Autopilot & repaired my GME Radio & were great to deal with .

OK, thats great, I will call when on the Boat or get my mate to do so, (probably tomorrow or weekend) far better to be right in front of it I guess, if it is too far gone he will just get another that is compatible.
