    tailor action down the pin

headed over to straddie for the long weekend and had a blast. first arvo was bait collecting and with plenty of worms around hd no troubles getting 80 between 4 of us and a heap of pippies. so straight to a good gutter to see if any whiting around not many found with only 6 getting caught but got some nice bream and dart. next day decided to do overnighter down the pin and as soon as we arrived the birds were working in very close so all down the and caught plenty of good sized tailor only about 10-15m from the beach. this went on for about 2 hours till dark until it shut down. ended up 12 to about 50cms. after dark it was very quiet with only 2 big bust-ups from jew and a good fight with a shark. the next morning fished again and ended up with a nice bream about 37 and 1 whiting. all in all had a very good trip with great weather and plenty of fish

    cheers steve

sounds like you had a ball, i fished the pin yesterday in the boat, only got two flatties, but had fun, so it was worth it. cheers

A couple of good sessions there.

    Straddie always seem to produce.

I was over there last week but only got as far as Flinders.
Just a little gutter. 3 choppers on sunday, 4 on monday and 3 on tuesday.
All around 40cm. Enough for a decent feed.

The 3 sweeties off the rocks alongside the Amity shop were a bonus.

Re: tailor action down the pin

thanks for the kind comments guys. OISTA the beaches were exellent at low tide due to big high tides but very soft goin on the top of the tide. also for the first time all the worms were caught about 1km from the big tree down the pin which is very weird. also plenty of birds working right the way down but out of casting range for us. cheers steve
