    Woody Ponit Babies.

Well recently moved down from Townsville living Nth side brissy, brother brought his 310 dart over for the weekend. All intentions were to explore rumours of snapper off queens beach. Got there about 0530 and with even a little roll in the seas made us nervous so we launched at Clontarf instead and headed off woody point No idea what we were doing with a basic sounder brought the day before we simply putted around dropped anchour or drifted at random, result was a scattered catch of baby snapper in the low 20's last count I think was 10. Not the 60's we had heard about will keep trying. Trying brissy river tomorrow.

Those shallow reef Bay Snapper take a fair bit of work to get sorted out. The right tide time and bait (or lure) makes all the difference

mate if you find some drop offs or rocks have a go around there , out in front of the woody point jetty is a green marker with some nice rock near it start there and look all along the front to scarbrough and you should find some nice spots .
good luck in the brissy and watch out for the swell of the tugs and bigger boats they kick up some big swell .

    cheers nico

I would be shit scared fishing the Brisy river in a 3.1mtr tinny, there are some big boats down there and it can get very rough. You would be better off (safer) fishing boggy creek(off Brisy River near mouth)

If you want to fish the Woody Point reefs you better hurry. From the 1st March they're a green zone - one of the more stupid ones IMO

Well survived brissy river bit hairy all good. Nothing to really report other then a little snapper to blood my first little placy combo, at sunken wall think it's called.

Thanks for the advice for woody point, will take it all on board and attempt to get out of bed a little earlier next time. Yeah green zones they can be a real pain.
