    Woody Point pier

I was going to tryout the new Woody Point pier & was wondering if anyone has had any luck out there recently ?

I saw a number of people fishing but nobody seemed to be catching anything

I did see two large schools of bait fish staying close to the pylons .... dont know if this is a good sign or a bad one !

    Any thoughts ?

was there yesterday. That many people fishing you would have been untangling lines more than fishing. Leave it for a couple more weeks until the holiday makers go back home.

    G'day!

I haven't seen it yet but here is a web site with pics of it being built and the final thing: http://www.woodypointqueensland.com/jetty.html

    There are about 9 pages.

huh,, gone r the days of building for a purpose, id like to see how long those timber rails and decking last once the islanders start givin it a work over with their cast nets,, and the sharkers give the end a going over. timber filleting boards. it looks nice and all and i understand with the old one the rails used to rust out quick, but i cant see timber as being the answer.. maybe timber as the posts but some sort of thick plastic or masonry for the top rail, somethin that can take the abuse. i remember when i used to live there, that jetty would be packed of a night time,, especially tailor, prawn and squid season. debis everywhere, ink stains all round the mid section. i guess we'll see wat happens
