    sounder help

hi guys hopefully some one can help, i am fishing with a mate next weekend and he does not have his sounder set up for optimum performance. i have done some minor adjustments but feel it could be so much better. the sounder in question is a JRC50. if anyone happens to have a setup for this sounder it would be great. cheers LETHAL

    Re: sounder help

General rules for just about all sounders...

Turn auto-sensitivity or auto-gain OFF! Turn sensitivity/gain UP to just below where it is so sensitive that it blacks out the whole screen, then drop it down a notch.

TURN OFF the option to hide surface noise... You want to see that as most sounders will kill half the data when this is turned on.

Turn up whiteline/colorline option to give you a better idea of surface hardness etc.

Is that the exact and correct Model Number?
According to JRC, they never made a JRC 50 but they may have renamed it for Australia.
Can you provide a bit more info such as model, serial number etc?
