Any one have any ideas to what was done for improvements between shimano Spheros FA and FB models.
The only thing I could find was the drag washers upgraded..anything else.

one is left hand wind & the other is right ....... Brilliant innovation from Shimano
OK now i'm excited
Besides the drag upgrade there is an extra ball bearing that replaces a bushing in the RH handle side of the main drive unit, rubber handle and it also has the Propulsion Line Management System , featuring - Propulsion Spool Lip, SR one-piece bail system and Power Roller III.
Upgrade model= new model name, just like a car , If you want new model technology completely try the Saragosa or Stella SW [big break from FA Nagg ]
Limit your Catch - Don't Catch your Limit
Just quickly - the bearing count seems to be the same 3 &1(most sizes) , FA had the rubber handle too & power roller 3
Micro click drag ...... great in lighter line classes but is it necessary in a big reel
Aerowrap was available in the bigger sizes .....
Anyhow ..... as far as I'm concerned not a big difference EXCEPT FOR THE MASSIVE PRICE HIKE ....... +63% on a FB8000 ($169-$275) or FB18000 ($199-$325) - GOTCHYA

The Fa model [$225] only dropped below the $200 mark when the $A was high and they were classed as a run out model, the same as the Stradics, Sustains and Stellas.
The larger size Spheros where a good workhorse after a drag and bearing upgrade, and even better adding a Stella Handle, but now you buy it upgraded.
My old [upgraded] medium jigging one is now catching Red's off DI & 1770, it has been replaced with a Saragosa which has the same body mould, but with double the drag [20kg], extra bearings, Paladin gears and a machined aluminum handle shank, you can also interchange a Spheros Spool if you only need the lighter drag.
You can upgrade your reels when you get up this way Chris
